We offer a warm and secure environment that ensures dedicated person-centered care in the secure Dementia Unit.
There are 12 standard rooms divided into a suite of 6 at one end with a communal bathroom with flat floor containing a walk-in shower, hand basin and toilet.
In the center of the Dementia unit is the dining area, TV lounge and conservatory (sunroom) which leads to a mature, manicured garden and outdoor deck.
At the other end is another suite of 6 rooms with a communal bathroom with flat floor containing a walk-in shower, hand basin and toilet.
Staff working in the unit are either Dementia qualified, or they are supervising staff who are in the process of obtaining their Dementia qualifications.
The flat screen, smart TV and sound bar comes with Bluetooth technology as some Residents have this Bluetooth technology in their hearing aids given them the ability to control the volume for themselves.
When we have external entertainers in the main lounge, some of our Dementia Residents are taken across the to main lounge where they can participate and enjoy in this activity.
Our Activities Coordinators ensure that there are a range of activities for the Dementia Residents.
As it is a requirement for the Dementia unit to be secure, a pin number is required to enter and exit the Dementia unit.
