Overseeing the day-to-day running of Edenvale Home & Hospital is our General Manager Raymond Stein, who holds an MBA Qualification and is also a formally qualified Life Coach. While he is relatively new to the aged care sector, he has vast experience in Operations Management, encompassing People-, Finance-, Process-, Project- and Facilities management, in addition to spending nearly 10 years as Operations Manager at the Law School of the University of Auckland. For him, serving our Residents and their families well, is what motivates him.

The General Manager is supported by a Contracted GP, Contracted NP, Clinical Manager, Clinical Consultant, Clinical Coordinators, Registered Nurses and experienced Health Care Assistants who provide 24-hour care. We also have a fulltime Activities Co-Ordinator, Payroll & Accounts Officer as well as an Office Administrator and onsite Maintenance staff. Our catering and cleaning are contracted to Medirest (The Compass Group), who provide on-site cooks that prepare and serve delicious homemade meals and baking.

The wonderful staff of Edenvale Home & Hospital provide our residents with consistency, ensuring good relationships are maintained amongst staff and residents alike. We are proud of our long serving staff (30 years+) and consider them one of our most important assets.

Edenvale Home & Hospital is proud to have such genuine and diverse staff working and caring for our residents. Languages spoken by our team include English, Fijian, Indian, Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Niuean, Samoan, Tongan and Afrikaans.

She has several years of experience as she has worked at other aged care facilities in the past.

Akosita has been with us since November 2019 and is one of our Team Leaders.

In the 4 years Akosita has been here, she has proved herself and one of our stalwarts. We are glad to have her on board.

Christy Bongcawill - Rn and Clinical Coordinator

Christy is a NZ Registered Nurse, has been with us since September 2013 and is one of our Clinical Coordinators.

As Clinical Coordinator, she provides leadership, support and clinical guidance to the Team Leaders and HCAs, as well as co-manages the automated Roster system in place here at Edenvale Home & Hospital. Christy also has this great ability to remain calm even in challenging situations. She is from the Philippines and is expecting their first child in May this year.

Dave Griffiths - Maintenance Officer

Dave has been with us for just over a year and is our primary Maintenance Officer.

He is responsible for managing other maintenance staff and coordinating with external maintenance contractors, so we keep our facility a safe place to live, work and visit.

Dave has a wealth of experience and gets on well with staff and Residents.

Elsie Greeff

Accounts & Payroll Officer

Elsie has been with us since 2011, and as Accounts & Payroll Officer, she is responsible for managing the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and the weekly Payroll function once the Roster has been approved by the Clinical Coordinators.

Elsie is a NZ Citizen although originally came from South Africa more than 20 years ago, and now lives in Auckland with her immediate family.

Gislaine (Gee) Silva - Health Care Assistant

Gee has been with us since November 2022 and is one of our Health Care Assistants.

She hails from Brazil and moved to NZ with her immediate family nearly 10 years ago. Gee is a NZ Citizen and in the process of studying higher-level HCA qualifications and should complete this later this year. She brings a maturity and level of fun to our workplace.

Heater Jones - Registered Nurse

Heather has been with us since January 2013, and has been an RN for many a decade. Very early on in her career she was the youngest Principal Nurse Manager at the time. Heather has over the years managed hospital wards and we are grateful for her knowledge and extensive experience.

She now uses that knowledge and experience to train up the next generation of nurses.

Karen Nicole Wright Leiva - Health Care Assistant

Karen has been with us since November 2023 and is one of our Health Care Assistants.

She is from Chile and holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology. Karen also speaks Spanish and would like to make NZ her adopted home.

Merilyn Griffiths - Activities Coordinator

Merilyn has been with us for just over a year and is one of our Activities Coordinators.

Apart from a wealth of experience, Merilyn is a qualified Diversional Therapist and Chairs the East Auckland Board of Diversional Therapists. She also mentors Sharron our fulltime Activities Coordinator, plays the piano beautifully and gets on well with staff and Residents.

Natsuho Hamabe - Team Leader

Natsuho has been with us since September 2023 and is one of our Team Leaders.

Natsuho hails from Japan and holds RN status in Japan and Canada.

She is in the process of becoming registered in NZ and should be an RN here later this year.

Natsuho is already a wonderful part of the Team here and look forward to how much more value she will bring as RN.

Qia (Cha Cha) has been with us since October 2023 and is one of our Health Care Assistants.

She has recently completed her NZQA Health Care qualifications here in Auckland and is likely to have a promising career in the aged-care sector.

His motivation is to serve the Residents and their families well and support the staff to do the same.

Sharron has been with us since 2010 and is our fulltime Activities Coordinator.

She is responsible for arranging all the activities for all our Residents.

Sharron is in the process of studying towards a Diversional Therapy qualification which she hopes to complete by the end of this year.

She is from the Philippines where she is an RN, and in the early stages of applying to be an RN in NZ.

Siloate Tuato - RN and Clinical Consultant

Siloata is a NZ Registered nurse. She’s passionate about what she does and has been with us since November 2023.

Siloata has a wealth of clinical nursing experience and worked in residential care management for more than twenty years. Prior to joining us she facilitated and managed a facility on the North Shore.

Siloata is primarily responsible for managing our Policies & Procedures on which we are audited every 18 months by MoH appointed auditors. As Policies and Procedures are updated, Siloata then proceeds to educate and train staff to improve competency and proficiency.
